The Class as a Whole

I think that this revamped version of Theatre 200 is a great format. Not only do the students learn a little about all aspects of theatre, but they also can try their hand at utilizing what they learned. Also, the addition of design labs was a crucial element that helped with the development process for our scenes. I beleive that this format is great.

Midterm Performances

I thought that the Starving Artists' performance was stellar. The action was smooth and the emotion of the charachters was not sacrificed for theme. The other groups also performed well. The group that performed the scene from Antigone did a good job in showing the apathy of the guards as well as the defiance of Antigone. Finally, the first group that did the sequence from Fences, seemed to almost use the old Greek style. All of the violence occured offstage rather than onstage for the audience to see.
